What happend when bodyshop name is on check?

I just want to keep money. body shop does not want sign off on check. They said insurance co. sends them 1099. Can they get into trouble signing check without repairing? thanks Geo.

Can the bodyshop get in "trouble." Well, it depends on what you define as "trouble." The insurance company will not likely do business with them (unless they have to) if they know they are not repairing vehicles. It is a difficult thing but they can give them a hard time there. As far a legal action, it depends on you state law.
