Renting a car after a accident
I was in a accident because someone made a left turn in front of me.
My car was totaled and I am renting a car. I only had liability insurance. The person at fault insurance says I am responsible for keeping full coverage on the rental.
This is costing 17 dollars a day. Can they be made to pay the insurance also?
Answer to Renting a car after a accident
It depends on your state. The majority of states say that you must pay for that expense. You would owe that regardless of anything because insurance is an expense that you have regardless if you are in an accident.
On the other hand, a minority of states (i.e. Montana) will require the at fault party to pay.
Consider calling the department of insurance of your state and asking the claim department to ensure you are being told the correct information.
Good Luck
