Passenger in a Car Accident

I was in a car accident as a passenger, but didn't see a doctor the same day. I have scheduled an appointment with a doctor to discuss soreness.

The driver/owner of the car has begun proceedings towards reimbursement for damages. Am I eligible for any compensation.
