Ask an Attorney a Question for FREE!
How much should I settle this injury case for?
by Michelle
(Savannah, Ga.)
I was involved in a car accident in July.
I have accumulated over 16,000 in medical bills. I have returned back to work but I still suffer with migraines which I never had headaches before, I also have severe neck pain that interferes with my sleep and work, often I am crying because of the pain.
I have not been able to have sex with my husband since the accident because of the pain.
I have an appointment with a neurologist soon, but I was wondering what happens if his insurance amounts run out? What claims calculator is used to determine the amount to offer and potentially settle?
Answer:
Hello Michelle,
You have substantial medical expenses. $16K is quite a bit. You really need to talk to an attorney. It's possible that your husband (not you) may have a separate claim for loss of consortium, please see: http://www.auto-insurance-claim-advice.com/loss-of-consortium.html
This is a more complex claim to make and one that insurance companies do not like to honor. That's why you need to talk to a lawyer. To find a local attorney, please see: http://www.auto-insurance-claim-advice.com/find-a-lawyer.html.
If however, if you want to try to settle yourself and save on attorneys fees, you really need to study our page. Please see: http://www.auto-insurance-claim-advice.com/bodily-injury-claim.html
Also, we recommend your read this ebook. There you will learn how to evaluate your claim and put a number to it.
