Damages to friend’s car while driving | Who is at fault?
by Jose
(Portland, OR)
He let me drive and I was turning and the right tire hit the curb pretty hard and bent the tire a little bit and the axle right in front of his house.
Answer:
Hello Jose,
You were driving; you are responsible for what happed to the car. It’s the driver’s responsibility to keep on the road and hit curbs, holes, animals, kids, etc. Unless you are a minor, you will probably have to pay your friend for the damages.
However, the vehicle insurance policy will cover you if there is collision coverage, thus his insurance company will have to pay.
Good Luck,
