Am I covered by my parents insurance if I drove a company vehicle with a permit?
by Donna
(McLean, VA, USA)
I was instructed to drive a company jeep at work and I did not know I hit a bumper of a parked car. I was not issued a ticket and was coerced to sign a paper at work that I hit the car and I did not know I had.
My supervisor told me to come back to work and tell the person who drops me off to keep going. I thought that seemed weird at the time.
Then after he told me to write that he fired me and kept 3 weeks of my pay.

Hello there,
This is a difficult question. Insurance follows the car, so the insurance of the jeep needs to pay. The insurance company will have to determine if you are liable first, but they will have to make a determination to pay for damages regardless of what your employer says.
If there is no insurance (the employer has no insurance), then you may be covered under your own policy. If you leave at home, that police could be secondary to employer’s policy (if any) and cover those damages.
