Alleged hit and run

I bumped someones tire with my tire. I caused no damage. However, the other vehicle had existing damage.

I am now being accused of hit and run, the other vehicles owner denies that he had existing damage.

A third party witness is claiming I caused the damage when I did not. Help!

Hi Bob,

This is why you call the police, always.

At this point, you want to contact your insurance company and see if they can help you. Look at the statue about leaving the scene of an accident or talk to a local lawyer about it. That is probably where you would get the best advice of how to defeat the hit and run allegation.

The insurance company will also do an investigation on the matter to see if there was prior damage.
